PART-TIME SHELTER POSITION AVAILABLE River Cities Humane Society for Cats currently has a part-time position available at the Cat Shelter. We are looking for a responsible individual to work approximately 16 hours per week, usually on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Some holiday work is also required. Job duties include cleaning the facility and cat cages, disinfecting litter boxes, feeding and watering the animals, and other duties as assigned. Applicants must be willing to learn to give vaccinations, draw blood, take temperatures, administer medications as instructed by veterinarians, maintain medical records, and perform other veterinary care-related tasks. In addition, this position answers the phone, greets the public, and assists with cat in-takes and adoptions and related paperwork.
Applicants must be highly responsible, be over age 18, able to work without supervision after training, have a flexible schedule, reliable transportation, and some type of experience caring for cats (personal pets, zoo, vet’s office, animal shelter, volunteer work, etc.). To be qualified for this position, a person must not be afraid of animals and must have a true love and understanding of cats.
